First, he tells you how to dress. Then, he says, you’re cheating. And finally, he punishes you for not being ‘nice enough.’ I’m describing the common early stages of domestic abuse. This is why we are mad, furious, even, but not sore at losing. @serenawilliams

She (her coach) was cheating...all right there on video. And are saying that her behavior was slightly less than nice? It was nasty...and worse, she kept coming back for more. "Domestic abuse"...100% agree, she needs anger mgmt.

@Toughexterior your are correct. If people weren't so afraid to face their own biases...they could discover for themselves. But indeed its easier and safer to rely on assumptions/biases/rhetoric...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xea1KKEgOco …

the sexism was not perpetuated by serena's opponent therefore the fact that she is a woman is of no relevance to the situation

Yes, she lost today's game. She also lost games in the past but never have we all seen her behave this way. Hasn't something strangely happened that really got on her nerves other than 'her opponent was better'?

This years grand slam wasn’t about who won as it should be. It was about who lost. Photo sums it all up - selfish, controlling, bullying, arrogant and unapologetic. Women’s rights; what about the young woman who just won a grand slam that you crushed?

BJK is conflicted in her messaging. First BJK says Serena should not be blamed for her coaches actions then turns and blames the judge for Serena's actions. Serena messed up. Blaming and threatening the judge won't change this. Feel for Osaka. Not Serena.

I agree. I really like Serena Williams, a strong athlete/woman/mother. But this was disappointing to watch. Congrats to Osaka who battled hard and earned her victory fair and square.
