The purpose of the article was to have yet another anti-Trump headline? Chavismo has been about politicizing the military and militarizing the State. Who should foreign Governments try to talk to in order to understand the innards of the crisis? Nuns? @NYTimes reporters?

Furthermore, we have no idea of who spoke to whom. What we do know is that the Administration was not impressed or supportive. And the crime is? The real crime is to have sat in the Oval Office for 8 years doing NOTHING about a crisis whose consequences are ALL TOO OBVIOUS. BO?

Isn’t this illegal? I mean Maduro is awful but haven’t we learned our lesson with getting involved.

You got involved because Hezbollah, Iran, Russia, China, drug dealing, pro Communism ideology is taking place just a 3 hours flight of your shores, in one of the most wealthiest (oil) country in the world It's a national security matter US government is doing the right thing

Ding ding ding. Oil rich country. That’s why America gets involved. Not because of some moral response about people starving. Again if we care about people we would take out putin or jung UN for human rights violations and murder.

Just one question Who do you prefer to have that power (oil power)? Terrorist / drugs / communist cartels as Venezuelan government or the US government? As Venezuelan, I'll take the second choice

That’s actually stealing someone’s resources if the US goes in and takes control of their oil. Plus the greed/corruptness in the US that would over see that oil is not a good thing either. These people don’t care if ppl die as long as they have more money in their bank accounts.
