By way of the Internet...folks are slowly, but surely coming to see, and realize the scope of the infection of sexual assault. MANY violators have been able to hide their aggressions/crimes due to VERY limited resources to expose them; technology NOW says...
-no longer. -
My father took 50 years to share his story with me of abuse at the hands of his step father. My boyfriend and best friend also victims of male sexual assault. This is a severely under reported crime.
-
Yes, sexual assault OF males IS under-reported, which I suspect has a LOT to do with the stigma & self-shame men experience in revealing that they (as "males") were molested/raped. I also know a person who was molested by the stepfather; it seems many men "plot" to become that.

I have experienced this. When the person committing the assault is known and trusted, no one wants the inconvenience of dealing with it.

He should talk to millions of female sexual assault survivors who are rarely believed and even more rarely get justice. It's so common that unless a woman's predator is famous or an illegal immigrant, there's no NYT lead story with endearing photos and all. Hey, that's just me.
-
Wow. Victim shaming of HIM & all the male rape victims he represents. News Flash: Trauma is not a contest. We don't rank or rate victims or what it is that happened to them. STOP. Every victim matters.

In a culture where sport is the only space two adult men can touch eachother «safely», this is no surprise to me at all. To be met with disbelief and even aggression by telling the truth is beyond pain. The notion that men can’t be raped is a blatant lie. I hope this story helps.

When I finely told my pops what happened to me, why I was considered crazy mad, he told me what happened to him! 16 yrs old in the service! 3 service members got him! Tormenting him forever! We cried for each other. I miss him!

Why is stuff like this news?
-
Because if people hear about it they won't doubt man on man sexual assault. Imagine if it happened to you.

A brave hero, justice moved too slowly for him. But by telling & re-telling his story he's forcing the change that will allow justice to be swifter in the future. It takes tremendous courage for anyone to speak up after a sexual assult, but even more so in his case. A true hero.

I never experienced something like this in the Navy, but knew a woman who did. She was afraid to report but I was naive enough to believe in the institution. And in this case, the CPO mafia didnt protect their own. They removed him from the classroom immediately.

Not sure about this article, cuz I can't read it but, AD women who report harassment or assault get punished. I served 8 years. I reported 10 incidents. Only one guy was convicted & that was by a civilian court.

People doubt men on woman sexual assault every. Single. Day. Is this news because it happened to a man? Welcome to our world.

It's bad enough that this happened. The thing can eat at you from the inside. But when it's rejected as lies that's on a whole other level...
