Julia Salazar, running for a Brooklyn state senate seat, has been compared to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. But scrutiny of her background has revealed inconsistencies that could undermine her.https://nyti.ms/2M6Qzed

Tabloid garbage. You have done zero reporting on her opponent or any of the relevant policy debates in the race. Instead, this crap. You should be ashamed.

You're being ridiculous. It is perfectly normal for young people to grow up on one side of the political spectrum and evolve to a different side as they learn about themselves, the world and changing realities. I'm one of these people.

I’m on the fence about @Ocasio2018, but this story has nothing to do with her. It’s about Julia Salazar and some huge credibility issues she has. That has nothing to do with @Ocasio2018. A white man could also be exposed this way. Do we compare him to @Ocasio2018 with photo?

salazar doesn't have credibility issues. this is a pretty transparent attempt to smear her at the last minute because her opponent and his backers are shook

Don’t really know her, so was just going by what was in the article. I apologize if I was unfair. I was focused on how @Ocasio2018 was held up for comparison, including a photo, for no reason. It looked like the article was about her and it had nothing to do with her.

the comparison is fine in the sense that they are both DSA members in NYC taking on entrenched incumbents and have endorsed each other. their politics are very similar as for this story, you can read salazar's statement and judge for yourself if you want:https://salazarforsenate.com/2018/09/statement-on-lawsuit …

I did get that, but when I saw the article I thought it was about @Ocasio2018. It was not. It did seem to try to file them both under “if you’re lying, we’ll find out.” The whole thing seemed very disingenuous to me. Thanks for the Julia Salazar link. I’ll follow her now.
