Peter Dutton is the latest in a long line of Australian leaders to seize on concerns about foreigners and security to advance their political careershttps://nyti.ms/2M2YQ2H

The NYT tweet seems to suggest he doesn’t hold those concerns himself but adopts them merely for political gain. They couldn’t be more wrong

Everyone in Australia, except the indigenous peoples, are foreigners.Only differences are when you got there (criminals from Britain dumped there) or later by choice.

What is wrong with you, Australians? Do you think this is okay? Can't you vote this sort of people out of office?

They think it's okay to keep people selectively out like that is absolutely shocking! You Australians are our closest of allies! I can't believe our countries are so far apart, but unfortunately, becoming closer every day under tRump.

Thankfully, Dutton is much despised and holds his seat on the thinnest of margins. He’s a bond villain’s nasty lackey. He’s also the basis for a character in my novel.

Standing at the end of a long line, he glances down at the buttocks of the man preceding him. “immigrants” he thinks just before noticing how perfectly his hand would fit in the pocket, distracting his erection however fleetingly

Lol why is The new york times covering this? Worry about your own problems... your abhorrent healthcare system, crippled infrastructure, mass shootings every other week and massive division on almost every issue... seems like you've got your hands full...we are fine

Aussies govern as of a democracy for sure. In democracies, people who have a GOV position represent their fellow countrymen. According to this article and the detention centers as evidence, should the outside world consider a majority of Aussies as Xenophobians? wth al du rspct🧐
