This is off-the-charts historic. Now we have it from the inside: "The root of the problem is the president’s amorality. Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles ..." If this doesn't get @GOP attention, nothing will.

Oh come on. THIS will get their attention? Please. They already know he’s amoral. @gop will “wake up” only when their power is in jeopardy.

Do you know what it's called when unelected govt workers conspire to secretly undermine the working of the govt and evade the checks designed to guide the succession of power? A coup They are staging a coup in the White House and you are patting them on the back for it

Writing the op-ed is exposing what's happening. Which is unelected people making decisions for the elected government. If elected officials arent fit to serve there are constitutional actions that should be taken. Random people making decisions behind the scenes isn't one of them

So they "whispered" about invoking the 25th Amendment but didn't do so, instead choosing to manipulate Trump's ego so that he'd not completely fuck things up while they destroy environmental regulations and round up migrants? And we're supposed to applaud them for this?

I read all this and still say this person and the others are cowards. The 25th amendment would NOT cause a constitutional crisis. It would save this country from an idiotic childish madman. THAT should take precedence. Shame on the author for being so weak.

like is this even constitutionally legal? i'm not a trump supporter..at all... but undermining the president's authority, even though in some quest to save us doesnt sound legal. instead, this person should be calling for his removal and giving evidence why. *that's* courage

Everyone in gov't positions are supposed to uphold the #Constitution These people obviously believe that impeachment hearings are viable knowing what they know then they need to do their job How do we know if what they want jives with what we, the people, want. If this is true

they are not talking impeachment.. they are talking 25th amendment. issue here is that if they believe this... then they need to come public, not hide behind an op-ed. this president *is* incompetent. we see it everyday. there is a constitutional process.
