Thanks @nytimes! As an Overseas American, I strongly believe it is our duty to vote. We pay taxes in USA & have strong interest in how it is governed, especially since many of us are viewed as unofficial representatives of USA. I’m continually asked about our govt! #vote #expat

Thanks for the RTs! Let’s hope lots of Overseas Americans vote in Nov. Yes, I’ve been following news of Woodward’s « Fear » & Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings. Currently at Heathrow waiting for flight to DC.

I’m still confused. I’m traveling abroad currently, won’t be home until after the election. I do not live abroad so this doesn’t seem like it applies to me. Before I left, I tried calling my congressman, the state election official and emailed them too. No response.

I'm pretty sure that if you reside in the US, and will be traveling, you would just need a regular absentee ballot, as opposed to an overseas voter ballot. You'd probably get a better response from your municipal elections official (e.g. town clerk) than someone statewide.

Thanks for this but I am currently overseas and the absentee ballot didn’t arrive before I left.

You can still use a Write in Ballot, available at http://votefromabroad.org . Any other questions, check on the site or feel free to DM me.

All was working well until it asked me for an address while living abroad. I’m traveling with stays no longer than a few days. No permanent address. Thanks for helping. I couldn’t find you @leisasmith to dm you. Sorry.

Florida is rough. When I dropped it off at the Consul, the official described it as "an arts and crafts project".

I've often heard the opinion that people living abroad should not vote, especially if they have been living abroad for more than 10 years, cause they are not living in the political and economic environment of their country. I don't agree with that, but what do u think?
