The political left is not divided on the question of whether Bannon should speak at the New Yorker thing.

This is a terrible article. Grinbaum writes ”Mr. Bannon’s hard-right, anti-immigrant views.” But we all know Bannon is infamous for his white supremacist beliefs. WHITE SUPREMACY.

The liberal left is NOT “divided” or “torn.” We all agree that Bannon is hateful, divisive, and dangerous to society.

Make no mistake, the left remains steadfastly undivided against idiocy, bigotry, and pernicious political propaganda, fueled by seditious intent, masquerading as a 1st amendment, free speech issue. We simply and categorically reject that platform from anyone.

The only people "torn" are either confused about what "tolerance" means, refuse to acknowledge what white supremacy is, or have no qualms questioning whether large swaths of people are human beings—because their own rights aren't being threatened. In other words, privileged.

Isn’t pulling out of the event exactly what free speech is about? Liberal attendees protested using their free speech and their voices were heard

Moot point. Bannon had his own publications to make his voice heard. Now he doesn't even have that.

He is not just in his order sharing philosophical viewpoints. He is actively engaged around the world to dismantle democratic institutions and stir white nationalism. Zero reason he should be give a podium.

Bannon did not have the credibility to be at that festival. The New Yorker made the right decision. He has many other outlets to be heard. The speakers with credentials spoke.
