.@carlbildt is like the @JeffFlake of Sweden. Lots of wistful quotes and sad tweets, but no action. Bildt's party can only get into power with the support of nazis, and he's totally fine with that

Yeah how did moral superpower go for you? Oh what's that - the two terms are diametrically opposed?

It is not enough to be an immigrant, you must have the right to vote and to be voted. In a few years Europe will belong to muslims (5-7 kids for family). A clear and obvious truth.

The "moral superpower" was always a myth. No cause-effect in the "kumbaya" approach and the wealth and an efficient welfare in Sweden. That was only the image they decided to sell. "Moral superpower" right? Eugenics...heil.https://www.theguardian.com/world/1999/mar/06/stephenbates …

It took decades to convince the common Social democratic working-class swede that expensive and violent immigrants had more to do with his well-being than tax-cuts for the rich and the privatization of the Swedish model.
-
This shift in the public discourse benefited the right wing of the Social democrats and Carl Bildt’s own right-wing party at first (who privatized big chunks of the Swedish welfare state), but it certainly benefited the right-wing extremists in the long run.

The rise of the reformed neo-Nazis in Sweden has little to do with 160k migrants fleeing from the Syrian ruins, but much more with the conscious shift of attention from welfare & solidarity, to profits and the cost of migration.

I firmly believe that future historians will attribute the shift to the far right to Carl Bildt and the faction of the establishment he represents, the biggest media outlets included.
