Hopefully just the start. Time to reign in the global empire that’s draining us financially. No more Pax Americana

I might support this if I believed it, but based on other public comments its likely we’re privatizing/contracting out the work our own soldiers were doing. I do not support privatizing our military.

I was under the impression Africa was very hot. That Russia, China etc.are escalting forces? Is it anout Oil & minerals? Did i missread about Africa about a year ago.? This doesnt sound right, for our military to leave Africa. Will it not set us behind immearurably?

my 1st thought is that trump is being paid (or forced) (by his handler) to close those facilities so RU can move in & around more easily.

@angela, indeed. but then, i'm naturally cynical, so i often fall for the most cynical possibility. yes, we're over-extended... but from the bit i've read, africa is one place we should be carefully watching.

Makes sense. To withdraw all troops from Afghanistan would make even more sense. The war is lost. It's terrible for the morale of troops to be fighting a war which obviously doesn't make sense. Such situation is very bad for the US army. On top of that it's a huge waste of money.pic.twitter.com/rYoP000ww9

"preventive counter terrorism" probably wouldn't be necessary if we weren't fucking up these people's countries and bombing their weddings in the first place 🤷

well you have... and thats one reason, but not all reasons... the genie is out of the bottle and its not going back in within your lifetime or your kids... so best you manage the fallout. But fair point.

I think that the United States should use the military for protecting our country from the inside. We have a lot of people wandering around here, particularly in our schools from terrorist nations. How do you think the students feel?

This order did not come from the Mattis, nor the defense dept, how about Trump. Has it ever occurred to anyone that we have not had a war on US soil because we have military outposts through out the world actually protecting use. To remove them would be disastrous.
