In Opinion Op-Ed columnist @DLeonhardt writes: "The congressional Republicans inside the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday would surely say they came to honor John McCain. But they were there for show."https://nyti.ms/2ClXT6i

What is most ironic is that "Conservative Christians" who legislate as anything else but have the gall to enter a Cathedral.

The antidote to GOP hypocrisy and cynicism - voter turnout in November. Dems should not hesitate to highlight the complicit, enabling silence of GOP members of Congress regarding our dangerous and incompetent President and his unethical administration.

And what we're bush and Obama doing? Not honoring McCain but reading from their anit Trump agenda speeches since this circus had less to do about McCain then trying to sway votes for Dems in November. It was a sorry spectacle for this country. NYT helping Russia sow discord.

Actions speak louder than words @SenateMajLdr, @SpeakerRyan, and the rest of hypocritical @GOP. #JohnMcCain represented honor, decency, and integrity. He tried to do the right thing for America. You, on the other hand will continue to do for yourselves and remain corrupt.

@nytopinion @DLeonhardt Signaling submission to the Dems only nets demands for even more complete and abject surrender. Eventually it will be necessary for Republicans to walk off a cliff to demonstrate the required level of virtue. As always, some will do so.

that much was apparent...from their body language, blanched emotional affect, and stilted comments. the one crack of honest emotion observed among them all was Graham. He genuinely cared for and about John. But swallowed his bile of hypocrisy

“In the same time, Senator John McCain of Arizona has retreated farther and farther to the fringe of American politics, running a campaign on partisan division, class warfare and even hints of racism. His policies and worldview are mired in the past.” Said the NY Times in 2008.

The journalistic arrogance of NYT Op-Ed columnist never fails to amaze me. Their political biased agenda always seems to bleed through their words. No wonder so many accuse them of FALSE news. For me, it's not do much false as it is biased.
