When she found out there was a swastika on the church bell, Sigrid Peters refused to play the organ during services. She has been called a "traitor" and worse.https://nyti.ms/2PwE3H2

The sign can also means something else. You can check it out. It is a very old sign...Hitler Bell. Get a life.

It's a swastika found on something with direct historical ties to Germany, not related to Buddhism which the symbol originated. Put two and two together, plus it literally has a quote from Hitler inscribed but no big deal right 🙄

You would think it would be the easiest decision to make to either get rid of the bell or at least paint over it.

You could just remove the swastikas.

Sell it to a museum or something and get a new bell. Why would this be a hard decision for anyone but Nazi sympathizers?

Seems a no brainer considering the horrific pain, suffering, and death it stands for. If you respect it as a piece of history, donate it to a museum. The significance of what it represents has no place in a church.

A monument of history. Sounds like the same kind of half assed arguments confederate sympathizers use here to keep up statues to traitors.

The swastika should be sanded off of the bell. From my point-of-view, the younger generations do not really understand the impact of WWII. After all, they cannot see how it has effected 'them.' It was a horrendous time in History that seems to have reared it's ugly head again.

So? Swastika is a Hindu symbol in use for over 4K years. I use it every single day. I hate those who hate my holy symbol. Hitler was an evil man.

I would take that bell and put it into a museum in Germany. Demonstrates that catholic and protestant churches had been most important supporters of the Nazi regime. Inside the churches on every altar table next to the holy bible there was lying Hitler's book "Mein Kampf".pic.twitter.com/VWkQWhMiWc
