In the hours after Meghan McCain's eulogy, conservatives have debated whether it was appropriate for her to have used the funeral to make a political statement. This surely would have delighted her father, @katierogers writes.https://nyti.ms/2PzDtZf

Are we really asking if THIS is appropriate?? There are SO many other things that come to mind for me, and THIS is not among them...

I can't even believe that is even being brought up.. The question is was it appropriate for Lindsey Graham to invited Ivanka and her husband to John McCain funeral When they knew in fact they didn't want any Trump family there at all.. and the answer is NO

It’s pure genius because they had to sit there and listen while everyone spoke against everything her dad is. It’s the next best thing to a public flogging.

Who cares what ANYONE thinks. She has the right to eulogize HER father however she wishes! @SenJohnMcCain would’ve been proud of her speech! @MeghanMcCain

Impossible for the remarks made at a politician’s funeral to not be political if those making the remarks are truly recalling, remembering and recognizing the life of the deceased. And yes, she spoke exactly as Mav would have wanted. 💪

trump uses EVERY opportunity to interject politics into any/every speech he makes. No matter how inappropriate the occasion or venue. Meghan had the right to say WHATEVER she wanted at her father’s funeral. GOP, spare me the phony moral outrage!

Let her grieve in her own way. I thought her statement not only powerful but absolutely appropriate. I am really sick of everything being countered.

@MeghanMcCain you go girl! It was both appropriate and necessary. Democracy is at a pivotal point in history, if we don’t save it now, we won’t have soon recognize it. @realDonaldTrump must be removed #TrumpKoolaidePolitics #treasonousTrump

Meghan isny interested in saving democracy. Her FIL works for the administration and she defends Trump and his policies on The View. She's interested in making herself look good.

Aah the conservative "appropriate speech" crowd So now eulogies for family must be politics free and never critical of Trump. Anyone else find it hysterical that they claim to be anti PC yet apparently we aren't allowed to call them racists, nazi's or say any bad words. . SMDH

why doesnt the G.O.P. ever loudly tell Trump when he is being innappropriately political? the G.O.P. says Let Trump be Trump" if he did this at at a Funeral, right?? Dont debate with these types of folks..They only respect FORCE, so deal with them as such
