There are Christian churches here that would love to enact this type of punishment.

Okay, we’ll this guy is obviously a maniac with what I’m sure is an extremely small following. That’s a far cry from State policy of a nation of 20 million.

He is not an isolated case and his following is large enough to have had made that speech at one of those ignorant bigoted CPAC conferences. You’re very naive if you think he’s just a one off christian pastor in America.

Did you hear the applause? In what was obviously a very large hall the scattering of claps was barely audible. Im willing to bet 100/1 there are far more Democrats in Dearborn, Michigan or St Paul, Minnesota who would approve of punitive actions against homosexuality.

Nice deflection to something totally irrelevant to the point. The point is you asked for an example and clearly I gave you one.

Fair enough but this hardly represents any significant level of Christianity, which was the narrative the originator of this trail was trying to plant in his attempt to deflect from the reality of anti-woman and anti-gay attitudes of large sections within Islam.

They've got to behave for a while yet. They've just hired serial "white basher" and "police basher", Sarah Jeong! Good luck with that NYT!

I disagree because it depends who is interpreting it. Have you read the Koran? I have. It permits all sorts of violence and intolerance. Kill the unbelievablers, women are lesser than men, Christians and Jews are like dogs and pigs and so on and so forth.

Wow... @nytimes ...you’re sounding mighty “islamaphobic” by stating the truth - aren’t you? Somehow though you’re avoiding the New Mexico story and calling it exactly what it is? Or maybe I missed it ...(I’ll happily stand corrected if so 😎)
