When it comes to tracking a teenager via their phone, not everything that's technologically possible is a good idea — including whether you track them at allhttps://nyti.ms/2C710Pn

Watch Black Mirror’s episode called “Arkangel” and you will have a better idea why you shouldn’t track them.

No, you should pay for a dossier and get a FISA warrant to track them ...then "unmask" the people they talk to....

My teenage daughter is a distance runner and logs up to 50-70 miles per week. I track her while she runs and she is grateful for it. It’s a safety issue.

I only track when they don’t answer the phone. It’s a safety thing. They can also track me.

These kinds of tools used without the express permission of all the parties involved is IMO spying and an indication of a lack of trust, one far too often hidden, not too deeply, in a veil of fear distorted into "I love you and care about you ... so much" I could not help it.

Do you KNOW how much trouble a cell phone would have got me in as a teen in the 90s?

So silly. As long as I’m paying for my teenagers phone (and the rest of their bills), I will track them. If they want to pay for their own phone by the time they’re 18, then they can turn off location services.

Based on what some of the teenaged darlings out there send out as texts & photos, parents would be well advised to monitor their teen's cell phone use, they would not believe what Daddy's #1 little Angel might be up to or #1 Homework son...🙄😳

Tracking should be on a sliding scale. If you are an A student, active in school-related extracurricular activities, well behaved at home, and an overall good citizen, there's no need to track you at all. If you are the exact opposite, you should be tracked a lot.

I guess it wouldn't be nessecary in a world where parents aren't losing their kids to CPS or being locked up for not watching their children every single second of every single day. But, that's the overprotective world we've created because 'won't someone think of the children?'

In this day and age yes we should track them. They most likely are not paying for the phone anyways. They are NOT adults yet.
