Luzia isn’t just the oldest human fossil in the region, it is the oldest human fossil in the whole American continent.
@nytimes published a story on that back in 1999:https://www.nytimes.com/1999/10/26/science/an-ancient-skull-challenges-long-held-theories.html …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Brazil does not value memory. Every four years we repeat the same corrupt politicians.

That’s sad. Just feels so sad and scary to hear it. Generations of history and efforts wiped out.

I agree. So much history will be lost from that fire in Brazil. Other museums should focus on preserving historical records from such devastation. I sure hope that was not an intentional act.
-
I believe it's intentional. It's not the first time this happens, Museu da Literatura in São Paulo, they want to make us, the Brazilian people silly. When you don't know your history, you don't know where to go and how don't make the same mistakes. They don't care about us.
-
There was so much history in that museum and many great artifacts. Wiping out the historical record is a poor idea as a means to create a better future. Museum's preserve the past while moving forward.
