"I really, really, really, really need to get her to a hospital A.S.A.P," he said about his wife. The call-taker told him brusquely that there were thousands of calls for service in the area.https://nyti.ms/2PVKkgr

here is a lesson for everyone who thinks government is there to protect you. government prepares for normal times, emergencies and natural/man made disasters ARE NOT NORMAL. in large scale emergencies government agencies are going to be over welmed and unable to help everyone.

A truly devastating story. Our nation is profoundly broken, and the only thing that will save it is public investment. The one thing the public never wants to do is invest in itself wisely. This is what happens when millions of Americans view taxes as a tool of the devil.

The burden of this tragedy is shared.. medical error fixed if alerted, early evacuation..the LARGEST FAULT, the storm & unbelievable, FAILED COMMUNICATION & UNPREPARED CHAOS that ensued..points to the need of overhaul, oversight of EMS EVERYWHERE. Fund the failed infrastructure.
