"How much more does the government want us to suffer? It's too much," said one father, who was deported to Guatemala without his 8-year-old son. He has no idea when he will see him again.https://nyti.ms/2PYJAay

It's obvious these illegal immigrants do not have any respect for our laws. So why on earth do they expect myself or the government to intervene and feel badly? Your mistake has consequences and you're experiencing them now.

Not asking you to intervene, just asking that we refrain from actively separating parents from their children. It’s overall less effort than actually doing it! plz grow some empathy it really helps in these situations

I must disagree. For every action there are consequences. These ppl know the risks and hence they are the root of the problem. Stop breaking law and your family will not be separated

Okay well if you genuinely believe that crossing an imaginary line on the ground justifies forcibly tearing apart parents from children, I guess that’s just a point of difference in our opinions.

The US is violating the Geneva Convention on torture and kidnapping, as well as the UN Convention on Genocide. It is not illegal to seek asylum, and crossing the border undocumented is a misdemeanor, the same as jay walking. Only monsters approve of this. #Wherearethegirls?!

Jaywalking isn't a misdemeanor, it's a civil infraction in most cities. Breaking and entering, robbery, theft, criminal mischief... Those are misdemeanors. So is illegal entry.

The only robbery that is a misdemeanor is usually under $100. Most robbery is a second degree felony.

I think we can all agree: 1. Separating families is inhuman torture and kidnapping 2. Illegally entering the country is NOT a felony 3. Most undocumented immigrants walk off a plane & overstay work visas 5. Even felons are entitled to know who has custody of their children

Right but proportional punishment vs crime right? Crossing the border is a misdemeanour. Separating families causes irreversible psychological damage. Have some perspectivepic.twitter.com/MYrG9O7Fv9

Moving the goalposts much lol I don’t even have any DNA evidence that my parents are really mine. Also since some of the kids were forcibly taken from breastfeeding mothers, id say that’s pretty strong evidence. Also - you’re a monster if you believe anyone deserves this.

Geez, you make it sound so simple. So, the parents are sent back to Guatemala, for instance, AND their children are taken away from them? No, this is what Nazi Germany would do. I don't know if you can ever defend cruelty to children. Maybe you can, but not me.

Parents created this mess thanks to Obama policies. Where does it end? We should not have to pay for parents' crimes. Cruelty to children started with them, it is their mess and their problem. Consequences of bad behavior can be tough.
