"The winds have quit blowing from the right," said a veteran lobbyist about Texas. "They haven't begun blowing the other way. But the winds are shifting."https://nyti.ms/2PYr3uW

Read @tedcruz and his description of Texans: he's the nerdy lil' Canadian who watched some John Wayne movies, buys cowboy boots and a Stetson, starts saying 'y'all' and thinks he fits right in. 🤣

Cruz has NO idea of Texas. Though I think he knows Iowa pretty well. Pity we aren't an early primary state, he might take an interest in his constituents.

Attend a @BetoORourke townhall and see what a public servant should be. 🙂 God knows you can’t attend a @tedcruz townhall. He avoids constituents like the plague. 😞 A Democratic Texas is good for everybody.

Something outsiders miss when analyzing Texas is that traditional Texans, including conservatives, value sincerity, compassion, hard work, friendliness and a spirit of community. Beto is appealing to those values. Some transplanted TX conservatives miss that.
