As consumers shy away more and more from sugary soft drinks, Coca-Cola has set its sights on coffee with plans to buy Costa, one of the world’s largest coffee chainshttps://nyti.ms/2C4m8pd

That'll be me boycotting Costa then. TBH prefer small locally owned business anyway. Much more individual character+friendly and you know the staff are usually well looked after,as well as their taxes paid.

The funny part is Starbucks owes it's success to selling sugary drinks.

Yet soda is the only one demonized....in the States, people want soda taxes in the name of health but these taxes always exempt Starbucks...& some have MORE sugar than soda. Double standard & classism (Ppl who drink $6 drinks shouldn't pay the tax but everyone else does).

Another British company sold off to a big multinational, we've got hardly anything left. US multinationals are known in the UK for not paying taxes. Starbucks is awful and any change to be like them would be bad. When Cadbury got sold to Kraft they ruined it.

Kraft Cadbury's uses a glass and a half of milk powder. And god only knows what they put in Bourneville because it's utterly disgusting now. Always been a Costa customer but I bought my coffee from Caffe Nero this morning.

A cola flavoured Costa coffee will be disgusting. Hope Coca Cola doesn’t tread that path. =/

They will follow the eternal US business model; Run down the quality increase the profits and avoid the corporation tax. Another loss for the Exchequer.

No I don’t think so. More burnt coffee n slow service outlets all over the world soon. The proceeds r to allow Whitbread to roll out lots of new Premier Inns across Germany.
