Karen Monahan's allegations against Representative Keith Ellison are turning into a test among many liberals for where to draw the line between a messy relationship and an emotionally abusive onehttps://nyti.ms/2BZtr1k

I’m a liberal. This is not a test on where to draw the line. This is abuse, and nothing less. Rep Ellison should resign and bow out of the race for another person to run in his place immediately. This is not hard, but it is inexcusable. No one should ever be treated this way.

He's a bot (or the very least. someone w/ no followers). In fact, the first half dozen or so comments are from bots. It shows that between twitter and comment threads on newspaper websites, the vast majority of those that comment have not bothered to read the article in question.

Sexual assault/physical abuse are serious crimes to be pursued through the legal system. If the system is failing victims, that's another issue that needs addressing. Media based accusations, relationships gone bad weaken this movement and ultimately undermine fundamental change.

These accusations are more serious than the ones that required Franken's resignation. Should Ellison resign?

The line is drawn on whether the person can help @TheDemocrats win an election or not. It's not rocket science to understand that.

Tell that to Al Franken. Dems eat their own when it comes to this issue.

Franken: 1) was still a political outsider and more of a comedian than politician 2) had pictures that the Dems couldn't make go away Clinton is best example of them not caring. When the guy can raise hundreds of thousands in a single gathering, then his settlements are ignored.

The Franken pics were mild, he should’ve been able to overcome but D’s desperate to prove their #metoo bonafides. Base is not happy. Also Conyers is gone from Congress. If you have to go all the way back to Clinton, it kinda proves my point.

'All the way back?'The guy still is fundraising & making money for the Ds. Also Kieth Ellison is more evidence. The Ds are stuck with either disappointing MeToo feminists or blacks and Muslims. Identity politics bites them in the butt, and that's good; I tire of that nonsense.

Blk ppl influenced from the oppressions of the past. White Southerners who feel guns is the way to avoid past oppression. Hispanics fleeing oppression. Muslims/ Christians wanting to feel free to practice their religion w/o being oppressed. It’s all ID politics my friend.

Identifying difference is not the same as feeding anger and animosity towards them. Without forward-looking ambitions Jim Crow & Appomattox Court House will destroy you long after those times have gone. Weaponizing differences had to end - unless those difference actual destroy.

Sorry I'm not buying Karen's #MeToo moment .. a bad relationship isn't a #metoo moment .. it's just a bad relationship. She should be glad they are no longer together & move on with her life Don't @ me I'll never look …. Some men are creeps and some women lie.
