Vladimir Putin took the rare step of softening a government decision in the face of public pressure, diluting some parts of a much-despised pension overhaulhttps://nyti.ms/2olTM00

American Social Security (starts at the age of 66, not 63 as in Russia now) needs to be financed partially by increasing the federal debt. Same with Medicare. That's awful.pic.twitter.com/1Ug3Kx6IUK

He planned that from start. It is is main PR project currently. The parliament does it all right, but the massimo lider fixes it fast. He wants to show a central leader is more potent than a parliamental system.

Not at all, it's very strange decision considering very high prices on oil right now (russian budget have profit by end of 2018) - at the same time he seized from several millions people (at least 2) their money and forced them to search job in crisis falling russian economy.

and very vast age-discrimination on russian job market, mostly people 45+ are declined everywhere, Putin forced people to search in their 50+ for women and even 60+ for men which is hopeless=guaranteed poverty. Putin need money on attack to USA again, bigger than in march, Syria.

It's only going to get worse as the world imposes sanctions and asset forfeiture for political tampering and organized crime.

It's not a rare step. It's calculated. He knew they wouldn't like the harsh pension changes, this is just a way to look like the good guy and still get the changes through. Knowledge brought to you by-> @swussian

I think that your past presidents are laughing at your president Trump. Stalin was not a dictator, under his leadership Russia defeated fascism

We’re grateful to the Russian people for their sacrifice in defeating Hilter. And we are sorry that Russians had to endure the horrors of Stalin while doing it.

You are a good person. But you are mistaken, many Russian people remember Stalin warmly. There were bad moments. But there were huge achievements

You’re funny because you think a mass-murdering, small-minded dictator is something to cheer about.
