Media institutions always dodge the real issues and report on things that should matter least to the voting audience. No wonder @realDonaldTrump says they're #fakenewsalert

Grow up. These whole “dog whistle” issue accusations need to stop. Look at the mans career before you chose to label him negatively. If his deeds speak to a pattern then state so otherwise one word on one day does not define the beliefs of anyone.

Public officials (or those hoping to be) should be even more sensitive about what they say because they are in the public eye and will be functioning as a representative of the people (all of them). Sorry that it frustrates you that people get offended.

I am not offended just want an understanding that no one is perfect and errors will occur. I believe people should ultimately be judged by by their actions rather than on what may be a gaff. Yes they should be aware and try but perfection is not a requirement.

I don’t disagree, I’m just saying that the bar is generally higher for non-average folk in the public spotlight. So, the scrutiny should be anticipated and strategically avoided.

He used that word for a reason. Just like Roseanne Barr did. Just like every white racist I know does.

He most certainly knew what he was doing. Republicans are playing from the Trump playbook. He’s got his national coverage even tho he just needs Florida. Florida could do so much better. Extreme weather, mass shootings, polluted water🙄No thanks. #Resist

His base already exists. I am actually hoping that incidents like this motivate the non-voters. The largest non-voting people are the young and marginalized groups. This will do more damage for him than good.

There were countless other words and word combinations DeSantis could have used other than “monkey this up.” Of course he knew what he was doing; playing the Trump fiddle to the angry whites in their base. No clarification is needed, the opening salvo in the FL race was racist.

Because many american leftists are SO smart that they have the uncanny ability to see into the consciousnesses of people they've never met and tell you what they are thinking while still not being able to vote for politicians who can fix potholes and sidewalks whete they live.
