China's Navy is now the world's largest. It can now directly challenge U.S. military supremacy in the Pacific Ocean.https://nyti.ms/2PixZBQ

Fake News. China has one antiquated Soviet Era carrier. Its crew has no blue-water experience. It runs on diesel. It cannot project power beyond the South China sea. Also, it's made in China, so it will work great for about six months, then inexplicably catch fire and sink.

Nearly everything you own is made in China, save the shell of your car and house. Does it all catch fire?

You should consider more factors. It can be the world's largest, but the US have a greater amount of military bases and territorial posessions all across the Pacific Ocean. I doubt that PRC constitutes an actual challenge, except in the South China Sea, where it is the main actor

That, and I have a feeling US soldiers are better trained, and more skilled. Call me crazy, but that matters a little.

The only problem with that idea is the Korean War, yes U.S troops are better skilled but when your 20-1 with the enemy you don’t stand a chance

But did you read the tweet I responded to? Mine was in addition to those points. Plus things like the US has a 20-1 advantage in carriers, etc.

It may do at the minute, the problem is that China is mass producing their military hardware at a staggering rate, China is also taking advantage of hypersonic weapons which the U.S can’t currently keep up with

I believe China economy will stagnate sooner or later. Such a continuous growth cannot be maintained. And that would have an impact on these technological developments.

True but their main focus is on the Pacific, the U.S has navy fleets all over the world and China just focuses on the Pacific

I see your point, and I agree, to an extent. But the Pacific is the largest ocean on Earth. Whilst China has clear preponderance in some of its areas- up to the Spratly Islands- the US owns many insular territories in Oceania which are really far from the PRC sphere of influence

I am surprised to see this report from the NYTimes .. apparently you haven’t heard of the US Navy aircraft carriers. Do you know how many aircraft carriers in the US Navy with comprehensive air superiority compared to only one carrier with china with limited air power??

Carriers are only good at harassing poor defenseless countries. Against China or Russia, they are worse than useless.

This should get you started. China is by far the greatest threat we face. And if you’re one of those RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA types then know that Russia & China are working hard together to defeat us (but China is definitely the bigger threat).https://twitter.com/miztiki/status/1034902950517387264?s=21 …
