A group of students is suing Stanford, alleging that after reporting suicidal thoughts, they were required to withdraw from all classes, programs and housing, and that to return to campus, they had to write statements "accepting blame" for their behaviorhttps://nyti.ms/2wmzurM

Feeling suicidal, why didnt students turn to their parents, church or doctor? A school has enough responsibility in caring for your educational and physical well-being. Now the school is responsible for your emotions as well?

Everyone knows if you pretend to be suicidal at university you're supposed to get an "A" to keep you from doing it. Right? Sounds like Stanford is doing the right thing. Can't handle the stress of life? Maybe you shouldn't be here, life doesn't get easier.

Wow...That could actually increase the anxiety in a student and trigger suicidal actions! Vety bad on the part of Stanford.

Why are we trying to turn schools into parents? Why are people trying to abandon personal responsibility at every turn? Responsibility and freedom are opposite sides of the same coin. You give away your responsibility and you are also giving away your freedom.

Big Pharma is the direct result of CRONY Capitalism going absolutely BAD, it comes on the heels of Op. Paperclip, you know, where Nazis were imported into the US. Shouldn't you be at least looking into this? Or is your Cognitive Dissonance too loud for you to hear my valid point?

Someone seeking help for depression and thoughts of suicide are seeking help, and acceptance. If they are asking for help, they don't want to do it. They should be helped, not made to feel worse and given more reason to feel depressed and lose hope.

Sounds to me the school is afraid of school shooting incident at their prestigious college. The students in there eyes are seen as a liability to the school. The school's actions are irrational and wrong. The students need someone to help them not publically shun them.

Universities pander to students "mental health issues" and Molly coddle them to a ridiculous degree. Students are forever malingering, especially the girls, then they get extensions on papers etc. That is the real problem here.
