I sincerely don’t understand how anyone could expose their family to a church that has continually abused children and then covered it up.

-
It's not the church that abuses children. They are individuals just like those priests in Anglican church, the pastors in Pentecostal churches and any other heartless human purporting to be agents of Christ yet they commit sins in the church.
-
Calystilus is right it's individuals, there is sexual abuse in Judaism, Islam, Mormonism, Protestants sects, Buddhism, Hinduism etc. The issue is why they only focus on the Catholic Church. Traditionalists/Conservatives in the Church are causing problems for Pope Francis.
-
Exactly. We've had such cases happening in different denomination but they keep pointing fingers at Catholics. Here in Kenya a pastor killed a woman, other pastors rape minors and others are cought in lodges with other people's wives and others been involved in corruption.
-
I totally hear you, let us remain faithful and vigilant in prayer through these trying and difficult times, the Church is going through its passion, and we as Catholics must remain faithful. Mary Help of Christians pray for us!
-
True. Prayer is all we need for our church to be strong.

Everybody knows it. Church is an eternal temple of evil. Only blind people denies it. It's just a matter of time.

I grew up Catholic. The Pope is God's spokesman on Earth, he is supposed to be infallible. In other words, you follow him, blindly, like you follow God himself. So these people who are fighting Pope Francis don't believe in their own religion. TOTAL liars.
-
Exactly.
-
That’s not accurate. He’s considered infallible on matters involving faith and morals. On anything else he can be wrong and called out and asked to resign.
-
The doctrine concerning faith or morals is held by the whole Church.
-
Yes. But we don’t follow him “blindly”. He’s human too.
-
Yes he's human and even asks for forgiveness. "I ask forgiveness of all those I have offended and I hope to be able to do it personally in the coming weeks,” the Pope said in the letter, which was released by the Vatican. He never said he's infallible.
-
No it’s a dogma. Papal infallibility on matters of faith and morals. Meaning the chuch has never changed its teaching on a matter of faith and morals in 2000 years.
-
Ok. What happened at Vatican ion and the synods ?

A nine year old girl or boy is incapable of consenting. It is rape, not sex.
