Literally one of the top senators to accept the most money from lobbyists and special interest thinks he was a great and proud American !? This is what’s wrong with America . Corruption is so deep seated we think it’s okay .

Can't say how liberated people feel in Iraq or Nicaragua. But surely, United States have acquired great wealth and power by looting and manipulating those countries. They have redefined the colonial justification of helping out people in need.

Secondly, the lines "we have helped liberate more people from tyranny and poverty than ever before in history. We have acquired great wealth and power in the process." Rightly describes the American intent in supporting those nations.

The press hated him when he ran for President. They like him now because they can use him as a foil against Trump. So obvious.pic.twitter.com/LKL5rMM76s

There are two things that are quite problematic in his statement...firstly, he said United States is a blessing to humanity. I hear pride in that and those who are aware of world politics today would negate this claim as a mocking statement.

McCain opposed making the birthday of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King a national holiday. During his 2000 campaign, he told reporters on his “Straight Talk Express: “I hated the gooks (North Vietnamese). I will hate them as long as I live.”
