“Magic Mike” and the “50 Shades of Grey” franchise have helped make male ogling big business in recent years. But male gymnasts haven’t captured the imagination of American spectators in the same way.https://nyti.ms/2PIyxSw

BC those movies are literally for that purpose. Male gymnasts are athletes and their talent is why we watch. Women know what it’s like to be ogled and discounted. Why would we repeat that? We are able to find a difference. You should, too.

Since it's not chic to body boast women anymore let's keep the train moving w/men.Those movies are horrible and disturbing. To make any sport or any man/woman/human feel their body's are a spectator sport upon a sport is wrong. Maybe Seventeen should be writing this article.pic.twitter.com/22vnVZzoBo

Really? As a young gay Penn State student in the 60’s the very popular and very beautiful male varsity gymnasts sure captured my imagination.

More hard hitting journalism from the New York Times. Btw the same article about female gymnasts would be considered inappropriate and sexist.

Sooo... sexual objectification of women is demeaning, dehumanising, exploitative & generally morally reprehensible, but "male ogling is big business" & you're wondering why more men aren't being ogled? How can we possibly compete with such lofty intellectual standards lmao

You know that if the genders were reversed you’d be fired immediately, right? Can you imagine: “Why aren’t we sexualizing female gymnasts more?” This is insane.

So sexualizing women contributes to the “rape” culture but doing the same to men doesn’t. There’s liberal logic for you.

XRP is centralized and pre-mined. Exactly the opposite of LTC, probably one of the best example of why approaches like BTC and LTC are what has been surviving for 8 years and will survive another decade.

Absolutely not okay. NY Times should be ashamed of this bullshit attempt at journalism. Magic Mike was made for that purpose (male writer and director), gymasts weren't 😐
