That’s not how constitutional amendments work. They’re there to protect against the judge trying to block someone’s rights to do something because they feel a certain way. This will be contested and overruled.

Certain guns are illegal. Just because it’s a right to own firearms, doesn’t mean that you can own anything you want. There’s limits, and this happens to be one(for now)
-
It’s not a gun isssue though at this point, it’s a first amendment issue and free speech to share information. That’s the grey area here
-
But if the gun itself is deemed illegal, I would think publishing plans on how to make an illegal gun, would also make those published plans illegal. The problem is, those guns could pass through screening checkpoints. That’s pretty scary.
-
Good point. I didn’t think about it that way. However publishing how to make meth isn’t illegal but meth is so, I believe it would fall along the same lines

As if people with 3D printers need blueprints. Nerds will nerd all by themselves.
#NERDS -
Not every one is a nerd. Hopefully those who want them for harm won’t find a way to do this. I am appalled by your and others’ attitudes and lack of concern.
-
Here's the dirty little secret, it doesn't matter. Until you can make a plastic bullet they will always be detectable. And trust me no criminal wants a single shot plastic pos printed gun.

This ruining is meaningless because gun blueprints have already been put out there and are accessible right now. This ruling only makes the judge feel good but will do absolutely nothing.
-
I think you meant to type "ruling" but the auto-fill choice is awesome.
-
yes I did

This won't do any good, though. The blueprints are already all over the place, thanks in large part to this legal controversy. Banning code is neither a justifiable nor practical solution. This ruling will both be overruled & further pique interest in the blueprints.
-
The precedent of throwing people in jail for sharing information is far more dangerous than any threat the 3D weapons pose.
