Underrepresented students are less likely to take the SATS more than once. But research shows that encouraging students to retake tests could close a substantial portion of the income and racial gap in enrollment at four-year colleges.https://nyti.ms/2wr4Tsi

Its not cheap taking SAT; same with applying to colleges. Families with lower income can't afford taking it repeatedly wouldn't have the same advantages as families who wouldn't even bat an eye on that money.

Retaking the SAT helped me to increase my score and allowed me qualify for the scholarship that I used to afford college.

I took the SAT once without a calculator and still got into UCSC. All the Asians took it ten times and barely got into Berkeley

I was alarmed to discover that to take the SSAT (another test you can take multiple times) twice, you have to sign up and pay twice well before you know the first test result. Much easier to do for those who can afford it. They should refund if you change your mind.

Wanna fix the racial gap in enrollment than get rid of the racist practice of Affirmative Action.

My research shows that if the Dept of Education was abolished and public education systems were returned to the States, students would have the knowledge required to pass what is a simple test. Liberal thought is creating a national crisis in education and defeating our children

If Sec of Ed helped P&M students go to college, DeVos would compete w/bro, Prince, recruiting mercenary soldiers - Poor & minority students much less likely to repeat SAT test, go to 4-yr colleges; overestimate costs, miss deadlines & interested schoolshttps://nyti.ms/2wr4Tsi

        1) High schs have one free SAT for all students.Maybe they should raise that to 2 free tests 2)schools are so aggressive in how many AP classes offer.Perhaps they should include a class on SAT/ACT prep for those needing assistance & actual help with app completion.
