Introduce religion into politics. Gain a few votes but divide society. Feel sorry for Australia

Don’t. He got in via deposing the sitting PM who is more popular. He’ll be voted out next election

Australia has already had an openly atheist prime minister, so...

According to the latest census Australia is an increasingly non-religious country. An overly religious politician in Australia would make most Australians uncomfortable, we prefer religion to be kept private or low key.

And most Australians are effectively atheists, who could care less about Morrison’s beliefs, as long as he doesn’t try to ram them down our throats. If he did, he’d be more than likely voted out. Another difference to the US

I could care less what faith a politician follows or doesn’t- I care that they make decisions based on facts w/o relying solely on religious points of view to make those decisions. Religion has wreaked havoc thru history & doesn’t serve us well.

He’s only Prime Minister by default, the Australian public would never have elected a man like Scott Morrison.
