In @NYTOpinion, Op-Ed columnist @NYTimesCohen writes, "Trump was a symptom, not a cause. The problem is way deeper than him."https://nyti.ms/2weBMZU

i've been saying this since the election. one day, trump will be gone, but the people who voted for him will still be here. in order to preserve its ideals, the usa must prioritize education, including civics and critical thinking, in order to create an *informed* electorate.

Obama was an enlightened symptom of the improving best of America. Trump is a cancerous symptom of the small fearful dying relic of the worst in America. Surely there’s a cure for the latter to ensure our evolution!

Sarah Palin's nomination exposed the tip of the problem. Her people became his people and then became much bolder. Everyone else missed the warning signs and stayed away from the voter booths.

When Obama was elected , the dismantling of America’s core values began. Trump has put us back on track but the left wants to continue the Obama plan. Total destruction of America.

Trump has put us back?? Are you drunk? If morals mean bribery, adultery, lying, bullying, controlling, and desecration of America then I guess you are right. Having an IQ over 27, however, tells me that those are not morals. Shut the fuck up.

That's what upsets me about the Russia narrative; it delegitimizes the votes of millions of Americans, who weren't bamboozled by "fake news", but disillusioned by a Democratic Party that became akin to the morality police Republicans of the 90s. Trump was a middle finger to them.

Roger Cohen, very good the text, Trump did not hide what it was, did not show a false image, everyone knew who Trump was, they voted for him because they wanted a person like @realDonaldTrump commanding the USA.

So your organization hiring a known racist, is that a problem or a symptom of your organization's lack of morals. It sure shows bias and lack of credibility.

Removing him from power would just change the cover of the problem. People need to tackle the very root of the problem. That being said to do that you need to accept the fact that you are the problem. The very citizen who remain silent .-.
