A new report confirms what a lot of NYC residents already suspected - that rent increases are highest in gentrifying neighborhoods. Landlords are using a variety of methods to oust long-term residents, too.https://nyti.ms/2P2ljyX

That’s because white liberals don’t want to live with minorities.

Companies will eventually not be able to pay anyone a high enough salary to live within an acceptable commuting distance. When every apartment is $2000 or more a month and over $5000 for anything decent, U had better be paying your labor pool top dollar. #Dontcountonit

I saw first-hand gentrification in Alphabet City in the 80s. Believe me, the alternative was even worse.

Since NY is a Sanctuary City a lot of landlords are NOT getting the benefit they once did. So like my disabled friend, n her autistic daughter their rent went up 500..& have 2 figure out how r they g2 eat that month.

Also there was a meeting before tax reform was passed. Gary Cohn was on stage and billionaires in audience. They were asked about passing down there tax breaks, and about 70% said they wouldn't. It was on film, look for it. People should know, to prepare.
