We need Unions. More Unions. Bigger Unions. Better Unions. It's the only way 'the little guys' can defend themselves against the robber barons who own USA now.

Yes the work force needs to unionize. We need a party of labor and that's what's missing.

Really what do we need more capitalism?? I suggest you go look at Germany and how that entire country is pretty much pro union. Let me guess you want less regulation and the same spew that republicans say over and over.

Germany is incomparable to the US. And what we need is the free market. Not crony capitalism, not monopolies, but personal responsibility, free exchange of goods and freedom of association. In short, we need the government to stay out of it.

I'm going to put it this way. We wouldn't need unions if companies would take care of their employees period. Agree or disagree?

Rein in implies unions are out of control. Given they've been hobbled and hamstrung by years of anti-union attacks, I don't think that's the case. Language matters, or has your publication completely forgotten that little fact?

NYTimes hasn’t forgotten. It is Trump, GOP, &Repubs who are anti-Main St, anti-WeThePeople, anti-worker, anti-union—and thus arrogantly want to further weaken & abolish workers’ rights & voices, union strength & advocacy powers.

"rein in"?? There's a reason civil service protections exist, and you don't have to look much further than the current system of corruption and patronage to understand why. Duh!
