I thought it was common knowledge that Jobs was a jackass, genius but a jackass nonetheless
-
I just wrote that. I’m confused by this being a revelation too
-
Does it being common knowledge make it something that shouldn’t be written about? It’s an incredibly well-written piece.
-
No not at all. I’m just more surprised that folks find this side of Jobs is new information. Gives better insight though!
-
Ah, yes! I think perhaps some of the shock is that he behaved this way with one of his children— not just business associates/rivals, etc.
-
I think too it could be more about how the headline was written than anything
-
But yeah, the article was really well written and insightful

Unfortunately, greatness in a profession comes with a price for those who are in close circles. Whether in technology, sports and/or other fields of life.

This is no surprise. If anyone has read any legit details of his life anywhere(or watched either of the awful movies dramatizing his life);they know he was a douchebag. Was brilliant at taking other people's ideas,& re-packaging,re-designing,& popularizing for the masses

Well, it's actually not up to us to forgive him... only her. We should just accept it. And there is that he's dead thing. What's your suggestion for retribution?

Forgive him for what? Are we related to Steve Jobs?

Why does anyone need to forgive him? Why does anyone need to care what kind of person he is? He's dead. He contributed tech that has changed the world. He's a jerk. A lot of people are. We can recognize achievement without attributing worship.

No. Beyond the hype relating Jobs as a God of ingenious inventions, he was impossible to work with and, as his daughter says, a flawed parent and husband. Jerk

Plenty of us had crappy fathers. We don't write books about it. Just get on with life and treat your kids better.
