I bet it’ll be a fine and the Minister of Defense will have Mr. Kwan make it to him personally.pic.twitter.com/nkg6HjUm1j

Compulsory military service is terrible - I commend anyone who doesn't participate.

When it comes to avoiding or not completing service, money won't fix anything except for the fine.

I feel like they only ever bring stuff like this up to hamper their success. It comes off as petty.

I only take issue with the timing. He made this violation over twenty years ago, so why bring it up now?

This is a non-story that isn’t that rare with people who leave countries with forced military service before 18. They did only bring it up because his book has a very successful film adaptation so his name brings clicks. Wether it is to muddy his image or not, that is unknown.
