The headlines in Italian newspapers were merciless. “Asia Minor” was one; “Et tu, Asia,” another; and “Asia Weinstein.”https://nyti.ms/2wkDWGm

How dare her use Tony Bourdain’s name to defend herself. Did she use him to get the money to pay Bennett off?

Now Asia Argento understands that accusations as serious as sexual assaults need to be proven by evidence with due process in the court of law. Real court, not kangroo court. Otherwise it's just a shouting match. She should learn her lesson by now.

I don't care if they had sex or not together! that's their business! the problem here is that a large part of our entire world now seems to believe that 17 year old men in USA never have sex with a girl bit older than themselves! Bunch of moralists! GO NINA HAGEN GO ASIA ARGENTOpic.twitter.com/FFc3xU9WpJ

A bit older? It has nothing to do with moralists. Asia is the adult in the situation. She made a terrible choice whether the kid jumped her or not. She made the choice to have sex with a minor. If it was no big deal then why didn't she report his extortion?

you don't go around to tell people the names of those you have slept with! I don't want to defend Asia Argento! I am talking about principle! And I m against those who pretend that American men in their 17 do not have sex with women that are older than them! and all the MORALISTS

Sad THAT this is what people focus on. How superficial. The real issues are abuse of power...

No, what is meant is the real issue is abuse from men.

        1) Italy is not a “patriarchy”. NO ITALIAN LAW DISCRIMINATES WOMEN. 2) Italy is still a free country where #MeToo can be criticised without fear of persecutions. 3) Yes, only a minority in Italy sees Argento as a heroine. Sorry. Perhaps it’s because we know her better than you.

I am tired of seeing Italy being smeared in relation to Argento, who by the way told lies about our country. Wasn’t she supposed to escape from evil Italy? Well she’s still here. Please give her a hand, keep her with you, and turn her into yor national heroine as much as you like

Asia Argento is a controversial character but really can have waited ten years (she knew the "victim" when he is seven) to have a liaison with Bennet? Perhaps we will never know the truth... #metoo #metooMVMT #AsiaArgento #molestie

Damn. Still let’s not lose sight of this woman is an accuser in her own right and deserves to be heard. What she’s allegedly done also deserves to be heard. We all saw that selfie. This is extra dirty because it seems like her accuser is using revenge porn as a payday

I am willing to wait for justice for both Weinstein and Argento. And I agree, the versions of events they have presented don't add up, and are very weak defenses. I guess we all win in the end, by realizing that this sort of thing comes in many shapes and guises.

Good. There is no reason a grown adult should be taking pictures in bed with a half-naked 17-year-old.
