Ben Carson wants to encourage mixed-income, multifamily development as a way of making housing more affordable. But that's a notion homeowners of all political leanings tend to oppose.https://nyti.ms/2ByOEz6

That’s because people (even liberal people) only want integration and affordable housing in someone else’s school district.

My neighborhood is mixed. Lower end duplexes, then 1-story houses, then 2 floor houses, all blending from small to large as you get farther from the major road, no clear dividing lines. It seems fine, no drastic crime.

Mr. Carson --exploring practical solutions for housing issues is BEYOND the scope of your job as Trump's black token. Clearly, the GOP convinced you that U were "different" than "those people". U have been schooled --Take a seat next to Omarosa.

Bingo! We all talk the talk. Few of us walk the walk. Human beings, victims of our own tribal tendencies and primal urges since our inception. Circumstances change. We don’t. Neither veils nor marketing can hide the truth about mankind, which is not kind at all. Never has been.

I rarely agree with Republicans, but in this case, Carson has the right idea. For the past 20 years, these are the kinds of neighborhoods I've lived in. It's unfortunate that class and racial prejudices are jeopardizing the stability of these neighborhoods.
