So sad that parents are paying for liberal ideology, college professor are NOT teaching history based on facts. What’s even more sad is that students do not question anything! Taught by liberal professors at liberal schools & with written liberal textbooks!!

Talks about facts but doesn't realize the democrats were the slave owning party. Anyone with a brain wouldn't come to a liberal conclusion.

The facts show the leaders of the rebellion supported slavery. While the rank and file despised and dehumanized blacks, they fought what they thought freedom from tyranny which DC represented as the modern king George III. Western states also fought for their political rights.

There is no need for anyone to celebrate or honor those who fought for slavery. Just take them all down. America will be better for it.

It's one thing to regret your past, it's another to idolize it. Confederates were traitors to the United States. If you want monuments in the South, put of monuments of the Union generals who won the war. There are no Hitler statues either.

Yes, can people please stop pretending that a statue in honor of literal white supremacists is the only way to "remember" history? Teach history in classrooms, take kids to museums. But stop putting bad people on public, bronze pedestals

I don't know about you but I'm old enough to have forgotten most of the history I learned in both high school and college. A statue that has been up for this long doesn't have to be "honored", it can be a reminder of our country's history. Like it or not, bad things happened.

Do you often visit monuments on college campuses to remember "history"? Nothing on this statue's physical location actually details its white supremacist origins. What history lesson does it have to offer when it simply presents itself as a memorial?

Absolutely. The beauty of the time we live in we have all the information we need at our fingertips. If there is a statue, monument, etc that I don't know or haven't seen I can find anything out about the subject almost instantly.

They weren't erected in a time that information was at your fingertips. They were erected to celebrate those who fought for slavery well before computers and handheld devices. And for whatever reason, they didn't celebrate the actual victors. Weird, right?

You’re absolutely delusional if you think honoring TREASONISTS with statues is anything fucking close to 1984 lol please snap out of your propaganda-filled bubble. These pigs were NOT Americans, therefore America as a nation cannot honor them for any reason
