“We showed no care for the little ones; we abandoned them.” Pope Francis did what no pope had done before, issuing a letter to all Catholics condemning the “atrocities” of priestly sexual abuse.https://nyti.ms/2BsNghg

Just asking: so if they found so many cases on ONE state, how many must there be across the country. That is depressing as hell

I understand celebacy was adopted by the Catholic Church to make sure when a priest died his wealth was passed on to the Church? No doubt since that time abuse has been going on! It's about time celebacy was scrapped, although some abuse will go on no doubt?

If this was an Islamic institution im sure as hell child molesters and rapists would be getting life sentences! The leaders of #RomanCatholic have been raping young boys for a more than a thousand years now.

We hear much about what happened but not how it came to be that all these abusers were priests. Was there some type of recruitment that brought them in? Did the culture encourage rhem to become this way after they entered the priesthood? I’ve seen no focus on that angle.
