If you've ever found yourself a loss for how to talk about art — or even wondered if there is a "right" way to consume it — here's some helphttps://nyti.ms/2Pgckem

This is not what poor people think about. We don’t care.

I'm poor & I love art. I bet you do too, deep down. Being poor is a nightmare but liking art isn't a class thing.

Of course I do. I’m an artist. But I fon’t spend too much time these days wondering if I’m “consuming art” correctly. That’s ridiculous. There is no wrong way to consume art in the first place.

Eh art snobbery is still very real, as is the pervasive feeling that "fine" art is inaccessible. The piece encourages people to go to museums & relax, enjoying the art at their own pace. What's wrong with that message?

Nothing is wrong with that message. I didn’t read the article. I made a snap judgement about the title and projected my own personal frustration onto this comment thread

Art has become a business like selling securities or hamburgers. It's an Industry dominated by high gloss museums (Guggenheim & Co). This kind of commercial art you can do without. Makes people stupid and ignorant. Nothing is impossible (Toyota). God bless American decadence!pic.twitter.com/qoajksMNjX

If the picture's good, say "That's very nice." If it's bad, say very loudly, "What a load of total bollocks!"
