“This is what Movement is about,” said Tarana Burke, the founder of #MeToo. “It’s not a spectator sport. It is people generated.”https://nyti.ms/2Pp2c2Y

No. One person does not discredit a mass movement when that movement isn't based on their individual ideas or charisma. Most people have no idea who this person is but do know a victim of sexual assault or harassment. In fact, this article exists bc the victim talked.

That’s a convenient framing for Me Too, but it is a mass movement. Online social movements are a version of mass movements in the online age. Moreover, these people online are real and so are their experiences.

Under California Penal Code 261.5, a "statutory rape" takes place when any person engages in sexual intercourse with a person under the age of eighteen. So, Asia Argento is a rapist.

Can't we just pass better laws for sex crimes. We know rich people get away with it because people enable them. We need to publish the enablers. They dont have the money and influence so they will likely start speaking up. This weird unscientific shame game only raises awareness

No. That's absurd. This movement has always about ALL victims of sexual abuse - women and men. What Asia Argento did does not make my experience, or the thousands of other victims who have said #Metoo, invalid or discredited. #MeToo

Don't understand how #metoo ever had a movement. At least the vast majority of the "victims". It's extremely offensive to real rape victims. It sure seems that the actresses that had already made their mark just told HW to f off and walked out, why didn't they all do that?
