A Minnesota marketing company added a new benefit for its employees: "fur-ternity leave," the ability to work from home for a week to welcome new dogs or catshttps://nyti.ms/2PoQWn6

This is cute and all but can we actually focus on improving maternity and paternity leave

This private company, I'm guessing, allows for better than average maternity and paternity leave. Some companies are better than others.

Googled the company and apparently the parental leave policy is only what is required by MN state law

Still, they aren't giving time off for having pets, just the ability to work at home for a few days.

When you have a newborn, working from home isn't an option for the first few days or weeks at least. You need time off. Just being able to telecommute for a few days isn't such a bad idea.
