Well maybe if ICE behaved less like organized thugs and more like a legitimate government agency, maybe people wouldn't say that. And no one is saying there should be no agency to handle immigration and customs enforcement - just a different one with better leadership.

No, people called for IRS reform. But then again, the IRS didn't put humans in cages, administer psychotropic drugs to young children, and set traps for immigrants. But I enjoy your false equivalency attempt.

@realDonaldTrump “lawlessness & anarchy”? Have you read your last tweet? You have no regard for the law, all you do is cry about the Justice Dept. 24-7.

When your job is to take toddlers from their screaming mothers and then put those children into cages it’s no longer a job, it’s both a criminal and immoral act no matter who you work for.pic.twitter.com/qnl1ZhKKXp

This whole idea is completely unrealistic Just b/c ICE has been weaponized doesnt mean you can just get rid of the whole agency. It is a necessary law enforcement agency.

Such BS. NYTimes - do better. This isn't a reality TV show or a housewives show. Is hysterical name calling news? I don't think so.

Yes, I did. It is basically regurgitating Trump's characterization of people who want to abolish ICE and discussing its value (or not) as a political strategy. Which is BS reality TV show POV- "Look at his outrage today - how will it play? Tune in tomorrow."

In seriousness, there are reasons people want to abolish ICE. It's been vilified not just because of political theater but because of its brutality and lack of humanity. And some people think we're better than this, and that it doesn't reflect well on us or our values.

I agree. People may disagree but #abolishice is FAR from a call 4 lawlessness - Trump's statements are set out like this is just his point of view - a legitimate disagreement of opinion - not what DJT's statements really are -a deliberate falsification of #abolishice's concerns.

The organization is corrupt and littered with racism. There’s no fixing it or just getting rid of a few bad apples. It needs to be torn down & rebuilt. I don’t want my tax dollars funding it.
