Men prefer men doctors almost always. Women definitely prefer women doctors. It's quite normal if you can stop trying to label black people as racists to justify your own prejudice.

For everyone talking without any sense of history at all: white doctors have performed horrific experiments on black people in the US. That historical memory has led to a understandably low level of trust in the medical community. So ya, having a black doctor might help

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Stop w this race bs. If someone is so racist, they refuse medical advice from certain races, they’re their own problem.

When Mr. Garcia, a diabetic, told his HMO he'd prefer a Spanish speaking doctor, he was assigned Dr Maria Rodriguez, born in Argentina, and US educated. Garcia, a US citizen born in El Salvador, said he didn't want her because she was a woman and she wasn't brown enough. 2/

Christ I would take any doctor. It takes me weeks to get an appointment. I’m so desperate at times that if I walked into a surgery and was seen by a monkey with a stethoscope I would undo my shirt without a thought.

Maybe they’d peed better if we had black bathrooms. Or drink better if we had black water fountains. You see the giant steps backward you’re leading to with an article like this? The most racially divisive institutions are the ones pretending to be the pioneers of equality.
