Netflix says it is experimenting with promotional videos. Subscribers say they're just adding commercials.https://nyti.ms/2N1YM4I

HBO does this and nobody complains. HULU shows regular ads for any ol’ company, not just promotional vids for their own service and nobody complains. Interesting.

@Netflix_CA if I get one single commercial I am cancelling my subscription, I don’t care if it’s a commercial for a tv show or movie or a car, I know I’m only one of many but I hope everyone jumps on this wagon to. Not paying to watch ads anymore(cable)

They are also experimenting with losing a fuck ton of money and pissing everyone off.

#Netflix Paying to watch even more commercials? Even after you increased the price? No wonder people are speaking up. Don’t you have a main screen for this purpose when you first sign in???

The only reason people subscribe to Netflix is so they don't have to bear through commercials. It's not their annoying design or they mediocre original content.

It’s just like everything else tech is doing. It starts as new and fresh but slowly reverts back to the way it used to be.

"We will return to our programming after this promotional video." Call it what they will, promotional tv is an advert.

So a trailer on the main page automatically playing doesn't bother anyone, but this does? Hmm. However if you intend to include actual commercials, prices should drop. @netflix
