"Crazy Rich Asians" was No. 1 at the box office, posting the best marks for a PG-13 rom-com in 6 years. “This shows — once again, with emphasis — that true diversity matters."https://nyti.ms/2BoMFgQ

So it's a movie worth seeing? It could have been a bad movie, a flop - and diverse... The best and worst of what humanity has to offer has nothing to do with gender, race, religion, etc. That's stereotyping...

        1) It's DEFINITELY worth seeing! 2) It could've been bad, but it wasn't. 3) How does one become familiar with "the best and worst humanity has to offer" WITHOUT diversity? 4) I'm not sure you understand stereotyping. 🤔

I understand stereotyping. It goes both ways. Like Newton's third principle. Clapping back with your slight condescension; I think you need to explore the subject with a little more breadth and depth.

Nah, I think I'm good. Plus, I saw the movie. And while some Asian stereotypes ARE explored and, in many cases, turned on their head, I don't see how the movie or having an all Asian cast is stereotyping. So you think it's making Asians out to be "crazy rich?" It doesn't, FYI.

        1) The term Asian is a stereotype: Can you tell the difference between someone from Korea, Vietnam, Different parts of China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan. A friend of mine;s daughter made him change their Korean surname to a Chinese surname because of.

Thank you. It shouldn’t matter what the cast is, merely if the story is good and the actors can act.

That was kinda my point. The writing should be the thing that defines if a movie of series is good.
