Those that are suddenly angry about priests abusing girls and boys in their parishes, are the same people who were silent when alarm bells were ringing and they knelt silently in prayer.

The question I ask is : why do they return to mass, why do they still sit in a church, why do they still trust an institution that has shown its will to cover pedophiles and rapists for decades and its indifference to the pain of so many victims in so many countries ?

Priest pedophilia has been going on as long as I can remember. I don’t believe it will ever stop until these priests are treated like the criminals that they are. Put them in prison, like the rapists that they are.

Our parish priest read a letter from our Bishop. Lots of anger, frustration, and sadness visible. This isn't the '40s or the '50s, or, for that matter, 2002. They won't be able to bury it, hide it, or forget it. Every state AG must do what PA did!

Lucky for the church they still have parishioners who care enough about the institution to be angry with them. As opposed to former parishioners who simply turned away.

There're abuses and crimes in all kind of institutions with all kinds of people. This newspaper is obsessed in persecuting the Catholic Church.

Give me one other example of child sexual abuse being systematically ignored and covered up on the scale of the Catholic Church. It boggles the mind. I’m amazed anyone of faith would tolerate much less condone that rottenness.

in the presence of priests. This has been going on for years with no accountability so parishes must take charge to protect their children. It is unfortunate that good priests must also be suspected due to the actions of a few. Parents cannot say that they did not know. /2

Righteous anger?? Anyone that continues to stay is supporting organized pedophila network and the mass cover up of it.

I went to Church today, without being concerned about this scandal. Remember to Keep Holy the Sabbath, still applies, even when the priests fail. Those men should be held accountable in a court of law. This should not be an excuse to miss mass.

IMHO the Catholic Church and Donald trump have a lot in common. They are both abusing their powers and asking you not to believe what you see and hear yourself. And ironically the flocks of both stay true. It is a pity.

Respectfully some are also entitled to righteous responsibility. Some parents believed priests to be morally impeccable despite kids disclosing the abuse. It was as pervasive and catastrophic bc parents didn’t want to believe/see it & the church actively hid it from families.
