"Crazy Rich Asians" secured a No. 1 box office slot this weekend, the best result for a PG-13 romantic comedy since “Think Like a Man,” which featured an all-black primary cast.https://nyti.ms/2nPfIjZ

How exactly is an all-Asian cast "diverse"?

Diversity within the industry. Showing how not every movie has to be all white people to succeed.

That's cool. So then we can still have some all-white movies along with some all-Asian or all-black movies then. Makes sense to me.

I guess it depends on where you are. How many all-white movies do you think get made by the Japanese or Chinese or Indian or Nigerian movie industries?

You're aware that America's movie reach is international, while Chinese and Indian and Nigerian are not. Their movies/TV don't come here, ours go everywhere. That's the difference.

It goes to show that the fears/biases of the old industry gatekeepers and check-writers are unfounded, and that they're stupidly leaving money on the table.

I'm glad another marginalized group is making 💪🏾Hollywood money. Tho, you do know that racism & bigotry extends beyond Europe, right? You know what, Imma fall back. Go ahead w/this idea & see if it ever comes to fruition. And if it somehow does, how well will it be received.pic.twitter.com/LKSwg9NKWS

True, agreed n points taken! Lol but my commentary was not about getting that deep lol, simply liking the movie, n throwing funny idea out there, not actually serious or have expectations it will happen, even tho that wud b another hilarious piece! Eddie Murphy CTA meets CRAs!

It would be nice if you wouldn’t use a photo like this to promote your articles. Someone of us want to see this film and haven’t read the book and don’t want it spoiled

This photo isn’t one of the primary characters and doesn’t ruin the plot👍🏻
