“In all the conversations I’ve had with business leaders over the years, not until Elon Musk got on the phone had an executive revealed such vulnerability,” writes David Gelles, The Times’s Corner Office columnist.https://nyti.ms/2BqLeON

We will feel his humanity better if he stops abusing his staff and reporters and sending such demeaning and absurd public messages. Deeds, not words.

This article seems to me a bit like damage control. While the original interview was mostly reader mind manipulation. There was no balance. It was all to drive the point home "musk is crazy or sick or both, unfit to lead and has a drug problem etc."https://twitter.com/martinengwicht/status/1030854615812763648 …

Probably the most outrageous claim in this piece to push the “drug narrative” 420 > 42 is more famous from movie “Hitchhikers Guide of the Galaxy” - The attempt to link it to “marijuana counterculture” is highly manipulative & misleading!pic.twitter.com/vwPoX82Dhe

False. In America, you def link 420 to cannabis culture much quicker than you would anything else. It’s not misleading at all. It’s been like this for decades.

for one Elon Musk has much more reference in his twitter history to HGTG and 42 than to marijuana. 2nd this article is global and outside US people won’t know it. 3rd its still speculation and pushing “drug narrative”, pushing artificial a connection where there is none.

        1. Okay 2. That’s the point of mentioning the connection 3. Drug use was already part of the discussion, so again, that’s false.

My issue with this is that just because a connection can be made doesn't mean it should be - at least the reader should question the motive of the link. E.g. Hitlers birthday is 4/20 so nobody would make a link here just because the numbers fit.

Interesting that the original article’s headline wasn’t : Elon Musk says “The worst is over from a Tesla operational standpoint.” I wonder how the stock market would have reacted to that?

Gentlemens, there is one reason Elon does not give interviews to big chains and prefeer give it to students or YouTubers and it's exactly this, you just want to put him down.

"Revealed"? This wasn't a strategic decision. Even the interviewers strongly implied he was deeply unwell. A responsible BoD or family member would never have allowed it.
